Adaptive Alternate Assessment Measuring Growth
Mouse over the text below for additional information about our Alternate Assessment.
While NCLB requires that students with disabilities be tested, they are often tested with instruments that cannot measure whether the students have learned anything over the school year.
When teachers are expected to increase the knowledge and skills of their students, their own expectations of what students can learn and do grows.
This assessment measures growth over time on a state's specific content standards. By measuring learning growth, our Alternate Assessment encourages teachers to raise expectations and helps them understand how capable their students can be.
